Missing or outdated driver

Client computers running DataLog (Enterprise users) must have the Microsoft® ODBC Driver 13.1 for SQL Server® installed.

See driver installation page for more info.

Incorrect Connection String

Make sure the Database connection string is configured properly in DataLog. Ensure the server and database name are not misspelled.

See the section “Set the Database Connection String in DataLog” on the Setup Instructions page.

Wrong Authentication Method

Check with your network administrator which Authentication method should be used. Perhaps your organization uses “SQL Authentication” but your DataLog setting is set to “Trusted Connection”.

Network Connectivity

Check that your computer is in fact on the network and can access the server where SQL Server is hosted. Try pinging the server from a command prompt.

Slow Network

On slower networks it may help to crank up the LoginTimeout value. In DataLog -> Menu -> Edit -> Configuration -> System Configuration, click on “Advanced” and modify the LoginTimeout value.
